Goodwater, AL

Set among the rolling pine hills of Coosa County, Goodwater is a quiet central Alabama town with plenty of small-town character. The community got its name from the clear springs that feed nearby Hatchett Creek, a popular spot for canoeing, kayaking, and catching the rare Cahaba lilies in bloom. Located along Highway 9 and close to US-280, it gives residents a peaceful home base within reasonable driving distance of larger towns like Sylacauga and Alexander City.

Everyday life moves at an easy, neighborly pace, centered around local churches, school events, and community gatherings. The downtown area still carries the footprint of its rail-town past, while the surrounding woods and open land offer plenty of quiet and room to breathe. Families are served by the Coosa County school system, and outdoor recreation is always close at hand with Lake Martin and the Talladega National Forest nearby for boating, hiking, and camping.
