About Gracemont

Gracemont is a town in Caddo County, Oklahoma, United States. The 2020 census counted 279 residents. The town moniker is a portmanteau of 'Grace' and 'Montgomery,' the names of two friends of the first postmaster, Alice L. Bailey. Gracemont's local map joins its older history to the places and landscapes that still shape the town today, all within the wider Oklahoma setting. The local scoop is how Gracemont's history still shows up in the places people visit, work, learn, and meet. Gracemont is located east of the center of Caddo County in the valley of Sugar Creek, a tributary of the Washita River and part of the Red River watershed. U.S. Route 281 passes through the town, leading south 8 miles to Anadarko, the county seat, and north 12 miles to Binger.
