About Graeagle
Graeagle sits along the Middle Fork Feather River in eastern Plumas County, and its name grew out of a lumber-and-fruit-packing story. The town began as a lumber community in 1916; its first post office, opened in 1919, used the name Davies Mill. A local naming contest later turned “Gray Eagle Creek” into the single word Graeagle, and the old mill country gradually picked up golf courses and summer homes. Plumas-Eureka State Park is nearby, tying the place to the region’s mining history too. Graeagle is a Northern Sierra town where river, timber, fruit boxes, and golf all sit on the same old footprint.
