Greece is a census-designated place in the town of Greece, Monroe County, New York, serving as a contiguous northern suburb of the city of Rochester. Indigenous tribes settled the area as early as 1300 CE, and European settlement began in 1794 when William Hincher built a cabin along the Genesee River.
