A roughly $4 million rebuild has changed how Haltom City uses its 56-acre North Park. Reopened in June 2025, the park now combines a four-acre stocked fishing pond and pier with walking trails, native landscaping, a playground, pavilion, amphitheater, softball field, and 36-hole disc-golf course. Broadway and Whites Branch parks add seasonal splash pads, while the recreation center runs weekday basketball, billiards, table tennis, leagues, and classes. The public library stays open until 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday and lends Wi-Fi hotspots as well as books. In early 2026 it became a youth crisis-support site, replaced ten public computers, introduced payment-capable printing, expanded teen seating, and added CloudLibrary. Its calendar includes bilingual story time, teen activities, crafts, yoga, and community events, making the building both a technology resource and a regular gathering site.

The city's 2020-2024 profile was notably multilingual: 43.7 percent of residents were Hispanic or Latino, 23.5 percent were foreign-born, and 42.1 percent of people age five or older spoke a language other than English at home. Half of occupied homes were owner-occupied, with a median owner-occupied value of $218,800; median gross rent was $1,415. Median household income was $59,057, workers averaged 25.1 minutes traveling to work, and 28.6 percent of residents under age 65 lacked health insurance in the same 2020-2024 period. Those household conditions give practical weight to free public computers, hotspot lending, bilingual programming, recreation classes, and city investment in no-admission outdoor space.
