Hamburg, OH

Hamburg is a census-designated place and unincorporated community in Hocking Township, Fairfield County, on the old Zane's Trace corridor. It was laid out around 1812 and named for Hamburg, Germany; the route made the settlement an early stopping place for travelers crossing the county. A post office operated here from 1859 to 1905, giving the small community a formal connection to the national mail network. The CDP had 456 residents in the 2020 census.
