About Harlansburg

Harlansburg is a quiet rural community in Lawrence County, about eight miles east of New Castle. It got its start around 1800 as a stagecoach stop between Pittsburgh and Erie along what is now Old Route 19. Today, the area offers a relaxed, spread-out setting filled with rolling farmland, wooded hills, and quiet country lanes.

Harlansburg Presbyterian Church

The community is home to a couple of unexpected local landmarks. Harlansburg Station features an eye-catching collection of vintage train cars, antique buses, and old vehicles right along the road. Deep underground, Harlansburg Cave holds the title as the longest mapped cave in Pennsylvania, spanning over four miles of passages. Above ground, everyday life revolves around a peaceful country crossroads with an easy drive into town for shopping and dining.
