Harpersville is a small town in eastern Shelby County, Alabama, southeast of Birmingham. Originally called Big Springs and settled just after the War of 1812, it incorporated in 1943. The town sits at the junction of US Routes 280 and 231, connecting it west toward Chelsea and downtown Birmingham. A local point of interest is the Datcher Family Farm Museum.
