Harrisville, PA

Harrisville is a Butler County borough at the meeting of Routes 8 and 58, just south of Interstate 80. The 2020 census counted 819 residents. Seneca people used the fertile, flat ground for corn, and Robert Reed later built a tavern and distillery south of the present borough in 1797. Route 8 now points south to Butler and north toward Franklin, while Route 58 runs east to Foxburg and west to Grove City.

The borough’s present-day map is fuller than its size suggests. Harrisville has restaurants, shops, a community park, emergency services, nearby hospital care, and the Harrisville skate park, which opened in 2026. Children attend Slippery Rock Area School District, and Moraine State Park, Slippery Rock University, Grove City College, and Keystone Safari sit within a short drive. Borough council, meeting minutes, permits, and the events calendar keep the center organized. Harrisville is a crossroads borough in the practical sense: roads point in four directions, and almost every part of the week connects to a nearby town or campus.
