Harvey, LA

Harvey is a Jefferson Parish community on the West Bank of the Mississippi River, across from New Orleans. Its history reaches back to the French colonial era, when land in the area was held by Jean-Baptiste d'Estrehan de Beaupre. Today Harvey is unincorporated but heavily built out, with parish offices, schools, neighborhoods, shopping, and river-adjacent industry all part of daily life. It is closely tied to Gretna, Marrero, and the broader New Orleans metro while keeping a distinctly West Bank setting.
