Havana, AR

Set along Highway 10 in northwestern Yell County, Havana is a quiet country town just north of the Petit Jean River. It started out in the late 1800s along the old Military Road, but when the railroad arrived, the whole community packed up and moved a mile east to meet the tracks. After trying out a few different names, the town incorporated in 1900 and officially became Havana a few years later.

These days, the bustling depot and old timber mills are part of the local history, and Havana has settled into a calm, easygoing pace. Life here revolves around open farmland, scenic river valley views, and a friendly community where neighbors look out for one another. It is an appealing spot for anyone looking to trade city traffic for quiet backroads, mountain views, and plenty of breathing room between Booneville and Danville.
