About Havelock

Havelock is a Craven County city in eastern North Carolina, best known as the home of Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point. Its name comes from Sir Henry Havelock, a British officer in India, but its modern character is very much tied to the Marine Corps. Craven Community College has a local presence, and the city sits between New Bern, the Croatan National Forest, and the Crystal Coast. Havelock feels military, practical, and transient in places, with aircraft and pine woods always close by.
