Hayesville is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in Marion County, just outside Salem. It sits on the northeast side of the city and is nearly surrounded by Salem's urban footprint, making it feel closely tied to the state capital even though it is not part of the city proper. Hayesville is also home to Chemeketa Community College, a major local institution for the Salem area.
