Haynesville, LA

Sitting right along the Arkansas state line in northern Claiborne Parish, Haynesville is a quiet town of about 2,000 residents. Many recognize the name from the Haynesville Shale, stemming from the major 1920s oil boom that helped build the area. Today, the community embraces a gentler pace, proudly celebrating its title as the Butterfly Capital of Louisiana with an annual festival every September.
