Haystack, NM

Haystack is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in McKinley County, New Mexico, United States. The 2020 census counted 233 residents. Haystack was a significant area of uranium mining during the mid-20th century. The community is in the southeastern part of the county, 7 miles east of Prewitt. Haystack is in Gallup-McKinley County Public Schools.
