Heath, AL

Heath is a quiet Covington County community with roots that stretch back to the railroad era. Originally known as Willow Head, the area grew around the Central of Georgia line in the early 1900s and took its name from its first postmaster, Kate Heath. While it began as a bustling hub for local timber and farming, today it has settled into a peaceful, spread-out town where open fields and quiet country roads set the tone.

Living here offers plenty of breathing room alongside everyday convenience. U.S. 29 runs straight through town, making the three-mile trip into Andalusia quick and easy for grocery runs, restaurants, healthcare, and community college classes. Local kids attend Covington County schools, and Gantt Lake is just a short drive away for weekend boating, fishing, and time on the water.
