Heber is a census-designated place in Imperial County, California, situated five miles north-northwest of Calexico in the Imperial Valley. Founded in 1903 by the Imperial Land Company, the community of approximately 7,300 established its first post office in 1904 under the original name Bradtmoore before adopting the name Heber. The area's economy is rooted in agriculture, and public education is administered by the Heber Elementary School District.
