About Hebron
Hebron is Thayer County’s seat, founded around 1869 by a Disciples of Christ colony and named after the ancient city. The town’s easiest conversation starter is in Roosevelt Park: a covered porch swing built in 1985, moved there in 1991, and long enough for 24 adults. Hebron also carries a women’s-suffrage story; Nebraska’s first permanent Woman Suffrage Association was organized here. This is southeast Nebraska with a courthouse, a swing, and more history than the roadside joke suggests.
