Heritage Creek is a small, quiet residential community located in southern Jefferson County, about 16 miles southeast of downtown Louisville. What makes the town special is its unusual backstory. Originally founded in 1960 as Minor Lane Heights, the entire town picked up and moved when expansions at the Louisville airport prompted a buyout of the original neighborhood. By 2008, residents had rebuilt a few miles southeast along Cedar Creek Road and chose the name Heritage Creek to mark a new chapter.

Today, the city consists of roughly 400 single-family homes with a calm, neighborhood feel. While it maintains its own small municipal government, residents have quick access to the rest of the Louisville metro area and an easy commute to downtown via nearby expressways. McNeely Lake Park is just down the road, giving locals convenient access to fishing, hiking trails, and open parkland.
