Hewlett is a Nassau County hamlet and census-designated place on Long Island's South Shore, part of the Five Towns area. It is closely tied to the Hewlett-Woodmere school district and to neighboring Hewlett Harbor, where early twentieth-century land purchases helped shape a more residential village setting. Hewlett itself functions as the everyday center of that cluster: a Long Island suburb with train access, local shopping, established homes, and quick connections to both Queens and the barrier-island beach communities.
