Holiday Lakes, TX

Holiday Lakes is a Brazoria County town built around a group of small lakes near Oyster Creek, about four miles northwest of Angleton and two miles east of the Brazos River. Lake Alaska, Lake Yukon, Timber Lake, Lake Aniak, and 29 Palms Lakes give the community its unusual street pattern, with homes and roads arranged around water and no single traditional square. The town was incorporated in November 1981, making it a relatively new piece of the county map.

Holiday Lakes sits inside the larger Brazoria landscape shaped by the Brazos River, agricultural fields, drainage channels, and the nearby county seat at Angleton. Town operations include roads, drainage, utilities, and police services, all of which matter more here than an old courthouse or rail depot. Angleton Independent School District serves the community, and the town is in the Brazosport College zone. Holiday Lakes is easiest to place through its lakes: a compact residential town where water, county roads, and the Brazos River plain meet.
