Holland, TX

Holland is a Bell County town with a claim most Texas maps cannot resist: the state’s center of population is here. The present town grew out of the older community of Mountain Home, which began near Gotcher’s Mountain before the Civil War; a post office followed in 1870. Today State Highway 95 runs through town, the Holland school district serves local students, and the Corn Festival gives the calendar a signature event. Holland is Central Texas in a neat mix of survey point, hill-country history, and corn-country tradition.
