Homer, MN

Homer is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in Homer Township, Winona County, Minnesota, United States, on the south bank of the Mississippi River. The 2020 census counted 189 residents. Homer was platted in 1855, and named after Homer, New York. The community contained a post office from 1855 until 1965. That mix gives Homer a clear local shape within Minnesota, with older layers still visible in current places. The local scoop is a place whose streets, landmarks, and institutions keep its earlier story close to the present. The community is located to the immediate southeast of Winona along Highways 61 and 14, near the junction with Winona County Road 15. Pleasant Valley Creek and Homer Creek both flow nearby.
