Hostetter, PA

Hostetter is a small, quiet community nestled in the rolling hills of Unity Township, just south of Latrobe in Westmoreland County. Home to a few hundred residents, the area began as a classic Pennsylvania coal patch town in the late nineteenth century. The old mine and coke ovens have long since closed, but you can still see that heritage in the layout of the neighborhood and the sturdy vintage homes lining its streets.

Daily life here is relaxed and centered around nearby Latrobe, where residents head for grocery shopping, local restaurants, and community events. Route 981 runs right past the neighborhood, making it an easy drive into town or neighboring spots across the township. Families are served by the Greater Latrobe School District, with younger children attending Baggaley Elementary just up the road. It offers a peaceful, scenic slice of countryside living while keeping modern conveniences only a few minutes away.
