Hubbell, NE

Hubbell was platted in 1880 when the railroad reached southern Thayer County, and the village grew where Rose Creek supplied water for a grist mill and sawmill. Agriculture now fills the wider setting, with corn, soybeans, milo, and alfalfa fields around the compact grid. The village office manages utilities from Indiana Street, and a local steakhouse remains a named commercial stop. Thayer Central Community Schools in Hebron serves the wider area, so Hubbell’s present connections run through farm roads, village utilities, and a regional school district.
