About Hudson

Hudson is a MetroWest Massachusetts town along the Assabet River, west of Boston and east of Worcester. The river corridor was part of a wider Indigenous landscape, with Nipmuc settlements intersecting the territories of related Algonquian-speaking peoples. Hudson later grew as a mill and shoe-manufacturing town, and its compact downtown has become one of its strongest modern calling cards, with restaurants, shops, and older brick buildings giving the center a lived-in feel. It is suburban today, but the river and mill-town history still show through.
