Hudson, PA

Hudson is a small CDP near the center of Plains Township in Luzerne County, tucked into the Wilkes-Barre-Pittston corridor. Plains Township was formed in 1851 and covers the larger municipal map around Hudson, with the Wilkes-Barre Area School District serving the community. The township's roads, fire service, library, and other shared services are part of the less glamorous stuff that defines a place like this. Hudson does not have a separate borough government or a big main-street identity; its character comes from being a named neighborhood inside an old first-class township, close to city jobs and interstate routes but still read as its own Census place.
