About Hugoton

Hugoton is a city and the county seat of Stevens County, Kansas, situated in the High Plains eleven miles southeast of the Cimarron River. Founded in 1885 and named in honor of French author Victor Hugo along U.S. Route 56, the agricultural and energy hub of approximately 3,974 is served by Hugoton USD 210 locally.
