Independence, KY

Independence is a Kenton County city in northern Kentucky, inland from the Ohio River communities that historically held much of the county's population. Its post office history goes back to the 1830s, when the area used names such as Everett's Creek and Crews Creek before becoming Independence. The city has grown into a suburban community within the Cincinnati region, while also hosting employers such as Balluff, Cengage Learning, Krauss Maffei, Mazak, and Rotek. It is a practical residential and employment center south of the river corridor.
