Irwin is a borough in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, situated approximately twenty-two miles southeast of Pittsburgh. Historically serving as a coal-mining hub and famously designated as the original western terminus of the Pennsylvania Turnpike in 1940, the residential community of approximately 3,831 is served by the Norwin School District locally.
