About Jacksonport
Jacksonport is a historic town in Jackson County, Arkansas, situated at the confluence of the White and Black rivers. Historically a major steamboat stop, it was where Confederate General Jeff Thompson surrendered in 1865. Today, the community has a population of 115 and is home to Jacksonport State Park, which preserves the historic 1872 courthouse that served as the county seat. The park features campsites, a swimming beach, and the Tunstall Riverwalk Trail, offering both history and recreation.
