About Jacksonville

Jacksonville is a city and the county seat of Morgan County, Illinois, situated on the prairie of west-central Illinois. Founded in 1825 and named after Andrew Jackson, the community of approximately 18,014 is home to Illinois College, the Illinois School for the Deaf, and the Illinois School for the Visually Impaired. Public education is administered by Jacksonville School District 117.
