Jamesport, NY

Jamesport is a quiet North Fork community in the town of Riverhead, surrounded by working farms, vineyards, and open fields. Home to around 1,600 residents, the hamlet centers around a relaxed stretch of Main Road lined with local restaurants, farm stands, antique shops, and historic homes. It offers a peaceful, rural pace of life that feels far removed from the bustle of western Long Island while still keeping everyday conveniences within reach.

The area retains plenty of historic charm, anchored by the 1731 Jamesport Meeting House, the oldest surviving building on the East End. Nature and water access are big draws here, with hiking trails and Sound beaches just up the road at Hallock State Park Preserve, plus quiet boat launches and bayfront parks in neighboring South Jamesport. Depending on where you settle in town, local students attend either the Riverhead or Mattituck-Cutchogue school district.
