Jan Phyl Village, FL

Jan Phyl Village is a quiet, established residential community in Central Florida's Polk County, located just west of Winter Haven between Auburndale and Lake Alfred. Home to around 5,700 residents, the neighborhood was founded in 1950 by developer Harry Lesnick, who bought 1,200 acres of land and named the development after his daughters, Janet and Phyllis. Many of the original mid-century homes were built for airmen and instructors stationed at the nearby Bartow Air Base, giving the streets a classic, vintage suburban character.

As an unincorporated community, Jan Phyl Village is maintained directly by Polk County, which oversees local infrastructure, emergency services, and nearby recreation spots like Simmers-Young Park, known for its sports fields, dog park, and picnic areas. Local students attend Polk County Public Schools, and commuters have a straightforward drive into downtown Winter Haven or Lakeland via Recker Highway and K-Ville Avenue. It offers an easygoing, suburban pace with affordable living and quick access to the surrounding lakes and city conveniences.
