Jefferson is a city in Marion County, Oregon, situated on the east bank of the Santiam River. Founded originally as Conser's Ferry in 1848 by Oregon Trail pioneer Jacob Conser, the community of approximately 3,301 is served by the Jefferson School District for public primary and secondary education, operating three local schools.
