Johnson City is a city and the county seat of Blanco County, Texas, situated along the Pedernales River. Founded in 1879 and named after President Lyndon B. Johnson's uncle James Polk Johnson, the community of approximately 1,921 is located near the Lyndon B. Johnson National Historical Park and is served by the Johnson City Independent School District.
