Josephine, TX

Located on the eastern edge of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, Josephine gives residents a quiet, small-town setting with plenty of room to spread out. Straddling Collin and Hunt counties, the community attracts newcomers looking for peaceful neighborhoods, open spaces, and a straightforward commute to Garland, Plano, or Dallas. The town got its start in 1888 as a stop along the Cotton Belt railroad, taking its name from the daughter of a local landowner. For decades, it remained a sleepy farming hub centered around rail traffic and the cotton trade. Even as new residential developments arrive and the population expands, Josephine keeps a friendly, relaxed pace that makes it an easy place to call home.
