Kapp Heights, PA

Kapp Heights sits in Point Township beside the Susquehanna’s meeting point with the West Branch, just outside Northumberland and along Pennsylvania Route 147. The geography does much of the storytelling here. Point Township occupies a river-shaped pocket bounded by the branches and Montour Ridge, a setting that made crossings, freight routes, and river commerce central to the area’s growth. Kapp Heights belongs to that transportation corridor, with a practical connection to Northumberland and the wider Susquehanna valley.

The community’s twentieth-century identity has a strong trucking thread. Paul S. Crebs Moving and Storage moved to Kapp Heights in 1930, added long-haul service in 1933, and grew to 32 tractors and 45 trailers. That history fits the place’s position beside a major north-south route and near the river confluence. The 2010 census counted 863 residents, and Shikellamy School District serves local students. Kapp Heights feels like a place shaped by access: river edges, highway traffic, nearby borough streets, and the working businesses that took advantage of all three.
