Kaufman, TX

Located about thirty miles southeast of Dallas, Kaufman offers a relaxed, small-town setting with an easy drive into the metroplex along Highway 175. The community traces its roots back to the 1840s, when settlers established King's Fort on a bluff overlooking the prairie. After becoming the county seat and welcoming the railroad in the late nineteenth century, Kaufman developed into a steady agricultural hub. Today, that heritage blends with steady regional growth. Residents enjoy wide-open spaces and a close-knit atmosphere, along with quick drives to shopping in Terrell, outdoor recreation, and the famous First Monday Trade Days in Canton.
