Keeler Farm, NM

Keeler Farm is a Luna County census-designated place on the outskirts of Deming, a spread-out community that sits outside the city while sharing its school system. Deming Public Schools serves Keeler Farm, and county and regional planning documents treat it as one of Luna County’s colonias, with water, wastewater, drainage, road, and housing infrastructure needs shaping local projects. The name sounds like a single farmstead, but the CDP covers more than eleven square miles and had 1,146 residents in the 2020 census. Keeler Farm is one of those New Mexico places that makes more sense as a broad rural neighborhood than as a conventional town: its connection to Deming is the main part of the story.
