About Kent

Kent is a northeast Ohio city along the Cuyahoga River, best known as the home of Kent State University. The settlement was once called Franklin Mills, and the river helped draw early residents, mills, and later industry. Kent State now gives the city much of its rhythm, from students and arts events to research and athletics. Downtown Kent has a real college-town feel, with restaurants, shops, trails, and riverfront spaces close together. It feels youthful, historic, and more compact than many Ohio suburbs.
