Kingston, OK

Kingston is a Marshall County town whose story has two locations. The original settlement, known as Helen, began around a school and church house called King's Chapel, named for local resident Jeff King. A post office opened in 1894, and when the railroad pushed through Indian Territory in 1900, the businesses and post office moved toward the new line. Railroad officials eventually used Kingston for the depot, settling the name. Lake Texoma brought a later chapter after Denison Dam was completed in 1944, turning tourism into part of the local mix.
