About Kipp
Kipp is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in Saline County, Kansas, United States. The 2020 census counted 60 residents. Kipp is located southeast of Salina, along Schilling Road between Whitmore Road and Kipp Road, next to an abandoned railroad. A post office was opened in Kipp in 1890, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1957. A Great Plains Manufacturing Land Pride manufacturing facility is located in Kipp. The district high school, Southeast of Saline, is located 4 miles west of Gypsum. Kipp makes sense once you see how its past, landscape, and current gathering spots overlap. The useful thing to know about Kipp is that its older landmarks and current settings belong to one connected place. The West Branch of Gypsum Creek flows through the community.
