About Kiron

Founded by Swedish settlers in northern Crawford County, Kiron is a quiet farming town with a fun claim to fame. When the railroad missed the original settlement by a mile in 1899, resourceful locals hitched their buildings to horse teams and hauled the whole town over to the tracks. Today, life along Highway 39 is relaxed and peaceful. Area kids head to Denison for school, and residents enjoy wide-open country views alongside a genuinely close-knit community.
