About Klamath
Klamath sits on U.S. 101 just inland from the mouth of the Klamath River, inside the landscape of the Yurok Reservation and Redwood National and State Parks. The river is the town's compass: it reaches the Pacific nearby after more than 250 miles, and its mouth has long been a place of food, trade, and cultural tradition for the Yurok. Then there are the roadside landmarks - Trees of Mystery's giant Paul Bunyan and Babe the Blue Ox, redwood trails, and a drive-through tree that has been greeting Highway 101 travelers for decades. Klamath is North Coast road culture with deeper roots underneath: river, redwoods, Yurok country, salmon, and a very large blue ox.
