Knob Lick, MO

Knob Lick is an unincorporated community in southern Saint Francois County, Missouri, United States. Knob Lick is located on Missouri Route DD, just east of U.S. Route 67, approximately eight miles south of Farmington. The community takes its name from nearby Knob Lick Mountain. The short version is that Knob Lick carries an earlier story into the places people know and use now. That is the local read on Knob Lick: its past remains attached to the places people use now. In the Ozarks, knob typically refers to an isolated summit, and lick is a natural "salt lick" or salt spring.
