Kreamer, PA

Kreamer is a census-designated place in Middlecreek Township, Snyder County, set in the farm country of central Pennsylvania. The village grew as a rural hub with a post office, stores, a railroad station, and the Sunbury–Lewistown line; the old Kreamer cemetery history also recalls iron-ore work in the hills south of town. Its location along U.S. 522 ties it to Middleburg, Selinsgrove, and the wider Snyder County road system.

Wood-Mode remains the big local industrial story. The custom cabinet maker began in Kreamer during World War II, closed its original operation in 2019, and returned as Wood-Mode LLC after Bill French purchased the assets. State permit records still list the Kreamer plant at One Second Street. Middlecreek Township’s office handles the broader municipal map, while Kreamer Fire Hall serves as the polling place. Kreamer is an unincorporated place where Pennsylvania German farm country and a long-running cabinet factory meet. The plant’s history is unusually visible in a place otherwise shaped by fields, church roads, and township services.
