La Pryor, TX

Sitting right where U.S. 83 meets U.S. 57 in South Texas, La Pryor is a quiet, close-knit town of around 1,300 residents. Located in Zavala County just a few miles west of the Nueces River, the community was founded in the early 1900s as an agricultural railroad stop on land once owned by rancher Isaac Pryor. Today, the area retains its open rural charm, surrounded by expansive ranchland and fertile fields.

Daily life in town revolves around the local schools, with the La Pryor Independent School District serving as the main hub for sports and community events. Because it sits right at a major crossroads, residents enjoy an easy drive to larger neighboring cities, including Uvalde twenty minutes to the north and Crystal City to the south.
