Laie, HI

Laie is a community on Oahu's northeast shore, about 35 miles from Honolulu, with a strong Latter-day Saint and Polynesian cultural presence. The Laie Hawaii Temple sits on a hill about half a mile from the Pacific Ocean and is one of the town's defining landmarks. Its roots connect to early Mormon missionary history in Hawaii, while modern Laie is also associated with Brigham Young University-Hawaii and the Polynesian Cultural Center.
