About Lake Almanor Peninsula
Lake Almanor Peninsula is the east-side finger of Plumas County's big mountain lake, a place shaped more by shoreline than by a traditional town center. Big Meadows and the old resort communities came before today's subdivisions; the peninsula later became home to Lake Almanor Country Club, Peninsula Village, and other lakeside neighborhoods. Boating, beaches, golf, and summer cabins are the local rhythm, while the lake and surrounding forest do most of the scene-setting. It is a small California lake community with a strong recreational identity.
